Fools & Sages
Vintage Flair & Contemporary Grit;
Fools & Sages create ethereal alt-metal music for dreamers and screamers. Behind the music, Connor Botherway-Hill, Grace Leah, & Ellie Longstride come together to forge a sound that’s both timeless and fiercely original. With powerful vocals, poetic storytelling, bold guitar lines, and a dynamic rhythm section, they showcase their sonic signature: Vintage flair & contemporary grit.
Connor, a creative to his core, has lived a life surrounded by music and art. From an early age, Connor realised music to be a tangible form, became a dedicated musical archivist, and began to style his artistic identity. Connor builds chords like an impressionist implies hues, imagining gritty, yet spirited guitar lines, rich with texture and delicately embellished; the keystone of Fools & Sages.
Grace Leah transposes her alchemistic soul into musical moments, written in poetic prose and delivered with ethereal ferocity, to offer a vocal performance that is captivatingly hers. She benefits from a life lived adjacent to reality, offering a crafted portrayal of this world and its cruxes, making the real, surreal.
International Nomad, Ellie Longstride, lands in the world of Fools & Sages after a life of exploration and discovery, bringing her eclectic mix of cultures, visions, beliefs, and mantras, which manifest as a percussive powerhouse. A virtuoso behind the kit, Ellie conducts through texture and expression, imparting feel and impact for this alt-metal trio.
This is ethereal alt metal. This is Fools & Sages.
Big Cat Chic
Described by Reyt Good Magazine as 'dark and glamorous' and by Louder than War as having a 'Cocteau Twins otherworldliness', Big Cat Chic burst onto the music scene in 2023. Emerging from Manchester, the 5-piece blend hard hitting riffs with powerful beats and gritty lyrics driving their audiences with rowdy energy.
Taking influence from multiple genres, Big Cat Chic have created their own unique take on alternative music blending the likes of hardcore vocals with psychedelic lead, distorted guitar and groovy/grungy rhythms to provide a drive like no other. In their time they have been playing festivals, supporting touring acts and selling out headline shows. They most recently made their way to the finals of Satans Hollow’s Battle Sessions. With 5 large personalities on 1 stage, all sharing their close dynamic and love for music, their live show is something that you'll remember.
Big Cat Chic don't plan on slowing down anytime soon and you don't want to miss out on what’s coming.
All bands are on a door split so they get a fair share of ticket sales - we take our expenses out AFTER bands have had their share. By supporting these gigs you are genuinely directly supporting bands. Of course as standard, unlike bigger venues neither us nor The Hairy Dog take commission from any merch sales.
