About

Straight from the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee to the shores of the Mersey, The Mess at Fort Perch Rock welcomes a very special evening of authentic Appalachian music, stories and heritage.

Richie Owens, musician, songwriter and record producer - and cousin of country music legend Dolly Parton - brings his Appalachian roots to New Brighton as part of his UK tour.

Richie comes from the same remarkable Smoky Mountain family and musical tradition that helped shape Dolly Parton’s story. He is also part of Dolly Parton’s Smoky Mountain DNA: Family, Faith & Fables project, celebrating the songs, stories, faith and family history running through generations of the Parton and Owens families.

Joined by Bob Ocker and Joe Sharp, Richie will bring the sounds of Tennessee into the atmospheric surroundings of Fort Perch Rock for an intimate night of acoustic Appalachian roots music, original songs and the stories behind them.

This is more than a gig - it’s a little piece of the Smoky Mountains coming to New Brighton, connecting two sides of the Atlantic through music, family and storytelling.

Tuesday 18 August
The Mess, Fort Perch Rock, New Brighton
From 6:30pm
Tickets: £10

Come along, grab a drink and experience an evening of real music and Smoky Mountain storytelling in one of the Wirral’s most unique venues.
