WHY THE PEOPLE’S COMEDY?

We formed in 2018 based on 2 pillars:
1) To create a platform for hilarious comics who are counter-cultural (original, imaginative, underrepresented, alternative.. Revolutionary...).
2) A place where all comics are paid, no questions asked (this might not sound revolutionary but in our sector it sadly has been).

To this day, we are the only comedy night to pay all of its comedians, and we will never have it any other way.

We've gone on to win more comedy awards than any other in the South West of England and Wales (most recently Best Comedy Format 2026),

Also, we don’t do "headliners" — there's no pressure on the last act or the audience to laugh at the grand finale... It's chilled and we platform each comedian equally. We are selective with the comedians and each one will make you laugh of course!

So all in all, a bit different to the conventional, commercial comedy circuit.

WHAT'S MORE?

Community First: Your ticket supports the collectively owned PRSC building, helping a Bristol icon grow and thrive.

Fair Play: We’ve raised tens of thousands of pounds to ensure our acts are paid fairly via our equal pay structure.

Honest Pricing: Comedy like any art should be accessible to all, so we try to keep our prices low. The more that we make, however, the more we can pay our incredible performers! But please only give what you can comfortably.

Award-Winning:

Winner - Best Comedy Format '26 (Chortle)

Winner - Best pro comedy night '25 & Best live comedy format '25 (Chortle)

Winner - Best Comedy Format in Britain for Midlands and West (Chortle, 2024)
