About

Second Storey launches new record label and club night 'High Canopy' at Moon Club, Bristol - 20 years since the artist's first vinyl release.

High Canopy promises to be an environment that platforms full artistic freedom and homes the mechanised, cerebral dancefloor workouts of Second Storey's studio life alongside deeper, more experimental terrain.

In launching the label, Storey has invited 3 pioneers to share the opening night>>>

For nearly three decades, the London-born producer, DJ, Live act and mastering engineer Radioactive Man, has remained a steadfast pioneer of raw, unadulterated machine funk, helping to anchor Electro's position in UK club culture. The alias of Keith Tenniswood, he is known for iconic releases on labels like Warp as one half of 'Two Lone Swordsmen' alongside the late Andy Weatherall, Rotters Golf Club, Control Tower, Wang and most recently his own 'Asking For Trouble' imprint. Blended with a deep understanding of sub-bass pressure and syncopated rhythms, his sets are notoriously dynamic, shifting effortlessly from cosmic, acidic Electro to devastating, up-tempo club weapons. Whether playing massive international festivals or sweat-soaked basements as in this case, Keith delivers the visceral sound of the UK underground.

Berlin based Laurie Osborne aka Appleblim has been making music for over 20 years and released on and run some of underground dance music's most respected & influential labels. The co-creator of the seminal Skull Disco imprint alongside Shackleton, and with many releases on Tempa, Aus Music, Sneaker Social Club, Peak Oil, R&S records and his own label Apple Pips. Laurie has released two critically acclaimed albums in 2026 alone, with the deeply textured ambient album 'Liminal Tides' on Quiet Details, followed by his exceptional 3rd 'Neolithic Neon' for Berlin's 'Sneaker Social Club' where he's resident at their OHM/Tresor club night. A true originator in the Dubstep / Techno crossover sound, and innovative selector of a multitude of forward thinking Bass informed styles.

Ben Pest, has been tearing up the electronic underground with a signature sound that defies easy categorisation. Equal parts high-octane techno, twisted electro, and modular rave chaos. The Bristol based producer and performer Ben Mallott has built a reputation as one of the UK's most thrillingly unpredictable electronic artists. Ben has collaborated with artists including Egyptian Lover, Radioactive Man, Kursa and Imogen; with appearances on labels such as Mechatronica, Cultivated Electronics, Love Love Records, Orson Records, Co-Accused, Earwiggle, Wigs, Science Cult, and I Love Acid, to name a few. His tracks are instantly recognisable by their rubbery, elastic basslines, pointillist percussion, and a distinct sense of anarchic humour that sets him apart. His sets are heavy, fast, and unapologetically designed to make bodies move.

There is a restless, shape-shifting energy at the core of Alec Storey's music. Producing under the moniker Second Storey, the producer, DJ, live act, and sound designer has spent the last two decades creating a highly singular lane for himself, one that exists at the jagged intersection of hyper-textured IDM, muscular Electro, and UK soundsystem culture. With releases on Fabric's Houndstooth, R&S, Mechatronica, Nervous Horizon, Trust, No Static Automatic and most recently Clone sub-label Frustrated Funk with his EP 'Descend To Ascend'. His tracks marry the deep, aquatic machine-funk of Drexciya with the complex, syncopated rhythms of Autechre and the cinematic depth of his early influences like Portishead and Metalheadz. The result is electronic music operating in a state of constant mutation.

Taking its name from the legendary venue that once occupied the site, the Moon Club offers a 360° L'Acoustic sound experience in an intimate 200-cap setting. This is where the future of sound meets the legacy of the past.

The club operates a No Phones policy.
