Great little club. underground venue so expect low ceilings and an industrial feel, but decorated in homage to the City. Murals adorn the walls along with posters with past, present & future events on. The lighting is good. There are 3 rooms and 2 bars so never too long to wait. they sell draught & cans/bottles along with a healthy selection of spirits. I noticed a pretty good rum selection. The staff have always been friendly and attentive. But if i'm honest i only ever go to the bar and order my beer then off stomping again.

The music is very much down to the event of the night really. I have been to techno nights, DnB nights, house nights. This is usually due to the fact promoters put their own nights on so have musical control. the sound system is more than adequate to deafen you but also appropriate for the venue. the 2 main rooms house their own music with no real leakage of 1 to the other.

I imagine those thick stone walls help to keep the neig*bours happy.

i often recommend this place to colleagues that are after something other than the white shirt and skinny jeans type places. you can go here with messed up hair and nobody will judge you!

Decent night out and the icing on the cake very local to the centre. Easy walk home :)
The set was ok too. Kept it there, nothing fancy. Steady as you like.

          Basement 45 venue information

Basement 45 opened on Friday 27th February 2009. Located on Fogmore Street (underneath the Banksy on Park st) it was known formerly as the Mandrake.

The club is laid out over one level ,and, as the name suggests was originally used as cellars and Basements for the town houses on Unity street. For those that frequented the Mandrake at any point over the last 40 plus years that it has been open, you will have no doubt been struck, as we have by the character of the buildings and fantastic layout of the club.

We have fully updated the fixtures and fittings (particularly the toilets) as part of a thorough refurbishment. We have also updated the bars, DJ Booths, dance floors, seating and entrance way.

Basement 45 has a capacity of around 300 and has 2 bars and 2 dance floors. Musically the club is diverse with Fridays and Saturdays showcasing the best Bristol promoters and club nights playing host to the cream of national and international DJ's. recent guests include Skream, LTJ Bukem, Alix Perez, Commix, Icicle, Marcus Intalex, Quantic, Benga, Katy B, Friction, D:bridge & Instra:mental, Spectrasoul,Laofah, Hatcha & Crazy D, Boogaloo crew, raiden, meth, Jakes, Remarc, Mensah, Jubei, Logand, Total Science, Ray Kieth, Appleblim, Lenzman, Logistics, Scratcha DVA, Klute, Ed Rush, Ulterior motive, S.P.Y, Break, Twisted Individual, Callide, Drumsound, bassline smith, Mickey Slim, Basskleph, M-zone, Kelevra, Young Punx, Randall, Ink, Loxy, Vicious circle, Foamo, Addison's groove, rockwell, DJ Krust, Bryan Gee, D double E, Plastician, Rustie, James Blake, Joy Orbison, Slipmatt, Cyantific, Phace, Todd Edwards, Caspa, Wookie
