Yampy Promotions Presents Son Of Boar + guests
Formed in 2018, Son Of Boar have quickly become an exciting and integral part of the UK’s heavy underground scene. Fusing together weighty sludge riffs, stoner grooves, enormous tones, and a mixture of thrashy and doomy songs, the Bradford based quintet have worked hard and risen quickly with celebrated releases, tours and many festival appearances. Son Of Boar are known for their slumberous, powerful riffs, use of harmonised guitar leads, and in particular lead vocalist Luke Oliver’s gravelly, smoky voice. The heavy quintet take influence from NOLA sludge pioneers such as Crowbar and Down, stoner rock legends Kyuss, and a healthy dose of beloved UK heavyweights from Black Sabbath to Iron Monkey to Paradise Lost. Son Of Boar now sit comfortably as a UK festival favourite band alongside their peers Barbarian Hermit, Conan, Desert Storm and more.
Son of Boar released their debut EP A Tongueless Tale in Spring 2019, which was positively received, capturing the essence of their thundering and exhilarating live performances. This lead them to embark on the Siege Of Albion joint UK tour with Everest Queen in March 2020, just before the pandemic shut down live music. Son Of Boar powered through, using their downtime to sharpen their sound, marching to record their full length self-titled debut album at Corner House Studios in Yorkshire. The album was released on CD and Digital formats through record label Stoned Rocka in April 2021, leading to the band making their debut at Bloodstock Open Air Festival later that summer. Featuring five lengthy tracks, the album solidified the many facets of Son Of Boar’s sound and songwriting finesse. From doomy, escalating epics ‘Stoned Wail’ and ‘Cities Of The Deadeyed Priestess’, to stoner infused up-tempo rockers ‘All In Your Head’, and fan favourite single ‘Satanic Panic’.
Son Of Boar have continuously worked hard at their craft, quickly becoming an essential face in the UK metal festival circuit, with numerous tours and high profile support slots under their belt. In 2022, Son Of Boar were invited to contribute a cover of David Bowie’s ‘Soul Love’ for inclusion in metal-centric Ziggy Stardust 50th anniversary tribute album released by Pale Wizard Records. Son Of Boar have appeared at many UK festivals including Bloodstock, Hammerfest, SOPHIE Fest, Riffolution, Masters Of The Riff, Hard Rock Hell, Ruination and Tonehenge. The heavy quintet have shared stages with Conjurer, Elephant Tree, Kurokuma, Sergeant Thunderhoof, Bile Caster, Desert Storm, Beehoover, Slomatics, Church Of The Cosmic Skull, Battalions, Garganjua, Conan and many more.
In 2024, Son Of Boar were invited to Orange Amps’ headquarters for a special feature article, photoshoot and interview for their website. Son Of Boar have spent the year writing and demoing the follow up to their acclaimed self-titled debut album, which will see them take on new sonic risks, progressing into darker, doomier and heavier territory. The band aim to release their second full length in 2026 with ambitions to tour the UK and play more festivals.
