Nizlopi is the Anglo-Irish duo of Luke Concannon and John Parker, best known for their chart-topping hit “The JCB Song”, and the unique connection they create with audiences.
The pair met on a school bus in Warwick, England, aged 13, and quickly began writing and performing together. Blending folk, soul, and hip-hop, they developed a distinctive sound featuring Luke’s vocals and guitar alongside John’s double bass and beatboxing. In 2001, they launched their independent label, FDM Records, determined to retain creative freedom and build a career on their own terms. Their breakthrough came with “The JCB Song,” which reached No. 1 in the UK and Ireland and sold millions of copies. They went on to release acclaimed albums and became renowned for intimate, spontaneous live performances that often turned audiences into choirs. After years of success, the pressures of life on the road took their toll, and Nizlopi parted ways in 2009. The collapse of the band and its label was devastating, but Luke and John remained committed to the friendship at the heart of their music. In 2025, Ed Sheeran invited Nizlopi to open his LOOP tour of Europe, just as the duo were feeling drawn back together creatively. They followed this with a sold-out UK tour in early 2026, previewing new material. An EP and further live dates are confirmed for 2027, with a new album anticipated in 2028. Nizlopi are excited to share new songs that bring joy and truth wherever they go.
