The band is best known for their raw debut "One Chord Wonders" and their 1977 Top 20 hit single "Gary Gilmore's Eyes".
The Adverts released an acclaimed debut album, Crossing the Red Sea with the Adverts (1978), and are the subject of the 2012 BBC documentary We Who Wait: TV Smith & the Adverts.
