New Testament Church Of God Birmingham Lozells Road

The New Testament Church of God, George Street, Lozells, represents many things in general and stands as two things in particular. Firstly, it is the product of approximately fifty years of commitment, endeavour and sacrifice given by men and women who formed part of the arrival of new citizens to post-war Great Britain from the islands of the Caribbean. Secondly, it is part of a continuing Christian presence in the Lozells and Handsworth area of Birmingham, a presence that has the best part of 150 years history and progress to be thankful to God. The foundations of what has fondly become known as George Street Church were laid in the 1950's as Christians met together for the purposes of prayer in each others homes before larger premises became available in Aston and Birmingham City Centre.
