Hudson Freeman is a Brooklyn-based Lofi-Folk artist, inspired andforged by the DIY midwest. Born in Waxahachie, Texas to Evangelicalmissionaries, Hudson started writing songs upon a radical break at theage of thirteen when his family suddenly moved from the suburbs ofDallas to The Kingdom of Eswatini. The profound influence of indie big-hitters like Sufjan Stevens and Bon Iver, as well as college years spentin Springfield, Missouri made a do-it-yourself midwesterner out ofHudson. After graduating school and waiting out a pandemic, he headedto Brooklyn, where things really began to stick.His 2025 record,"Is A Folk Artist" is a disarmingly-distinct collection froma digital-age storyteller. It weaves issues of faith, belonging, and anxietyinto a modern folk record that feels increasingly more monumental bythe minute. Much like the artists who inspire him like Sufjan Stevens,Pedro the Lion, Weed (pre-hotline TNT), Hudson Freeman finds himselfat a uniquely turbulent coming-of-age moment. His music is shaped by areligious upbringing, grappling with moral absolutism, fleetingfriendships, and navigating a search for belonging online.Then, the riff took the world by storm. His new song "If You Know Me"drew in attention from the masses, catapulting Freeman into a widerspotlight than ever. It's a moody blend of bedroom pop, folk, slowcore,and post-emo, stitched together by a singular guitar riff and mantra-stylelyrics, confirming Hudson's undeniable knack for melody. The demoturned barnburner “If You Know Me” sent Freeman into the spotlight,released last November with a blown out cover of The Stones'/FlyingBurrito Brothers' “WIld Horses” to boot. Earlier this year, he released asplit EP,Adult Contemporary, with his friend The Bedroomer. Acollaborative effort, the duo diving deeper into similar topics and soundsas Freeman continuing to hone his sound and explore life’s curiosities.Now, nearly a year after If You Know Me changed Freeman’s life, he’sworking harder than ever. Spending more time than ever on the road,2026 has seen Hudson take the stage at Luck Reunion, Newport FolkFest, opening slots for Mumford & Sons and Foxwarren, plus sold-outheadline shows across the country and across the pond. Even all of thathasn't been able to slow down the songwriter. His new album, his firstwith Mom+Pop, is set to release this fall
