About

Talks in the Pub, from the team behind Seed Talks. A pint, some pub snacks, and everything you need to know about being a villager.

We are running two talks this evening, for tickets to 'Communication in the Age of Social Media, AI & Dating’, please click here.

So many of us want community, but it is really difficult to find. With many obligations and distractions competing for our attention, making time for consistent, sustained interaction often seems out of reach.

In this talk, Dr Noah Martin will draw on philosophical insights as well as two decades of experience building strong and long-lasting communities in Canada, Brighton and London to offer simple strategies and techniques to help you build the village you need. He will also break down how to overcome the inevitable interpersonal conflicts that come with community. This session is perfect for those of us who want to meet more people, make new friends, and help build a thriving, supportive social circle.

Doors open at 6pm, talk starts at 6:15pm - come down early to grab a good seat!

Your speaker:

Noah lectures in philosophy at the University of Winchester and runs the College of Modern Anxiety, a social enterprise that promotes lifelong learning for liberation. Noah’s innovative “playshop” approach to lifelong learning brings together revolutionary ideas from 25 centuries of philosophy with games and experiments to help people find creative ways to explore urgent challenges. Noah is also a staff writer for Rick Rubin’s Tetragrammaton and is writing a book on Existentialism for Bloomsbury. He recently began to study dance, which has taught him the joy and woe of being a beginner again.
