Cultural Conversations returns for its fourth instalment - the series where we sit down with the people shaping scenes, running labels, putting on parties and keeping the creative thread alive in an scene that never stops shifting.

Timmy Stewart hosts the chat in the Ulster Sports Club Committee Room from 5-6pm on Thursday June 18th ahead of our Night Institute 11th Birthday celebration happening later that night.

Joining him is a bona fide New York legend:

Justin Strauss - NYC-born DJ, producer and remixer whose career stretches back to the golden age of Manhattan nightlife. From his early days at the legendary Mudd Club and Danceteria frequented by the likes of his good friend Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, to a remix catalogue spanning hundreds of records across new wave, post-punk, house and disco, Justin has spent four decades at the very heart of New York's club culture - shaping dancefloors, championing records and remaining endlessly devoted to the music that made him. He's remixed Tina Turner, Franz Ferdinand, Beyonce as well as continuing to tour the worlds most respected underground clubs, while holding down residencies back home in NYC at The Lot Radio and Gabriela.

Expect an intimate, wide-ranging conversation on music, authenticity, and a life lived in the city that never sleeps.
