Barnsley's first hybrid games event is coming this August!

Barnsley is about to host its first ever hybrid games event and local fitness businesses Ellie Elite Coaching and Motiv Gym are the names behind it.

On Saturday 9th August, the Elite Motiv Hybrid Games will bring a full-scale fitness event to the local community, supported by national sponsors Red Bull and ESN. Doors open at 9:30am, with the event running until 2:30pm.

Participants compete in pairs, taking on a series of hybrid workout stations in doubles format, combined with track-style running - a format designed to challenge fitness, teamwork, and endurance in equal measure. Whether you are a seasoned gym-goer or simply looking for a fun team challenge this summer, organisers say the event has been built to welcome anyone ready to push themselves.

"This is the biggest community fitness event we've ever hosted," said the organising team.

"We wanted to create something that brings people together, celebrates effort at every level, and gives Barnsley its own flagship fitness occasion."

Alongside the competition, attendees can expect live sponsor activations from Red Bull and ESN, professional event photography, finisher patches, and a podium celebration for top finishers.
