Some gigs just feel as if they belong in a particular room — and Bootleg Blondie at Ayr Pavilion is one of them.
Blondie were born from the heat, colour and attitude of New York’s late-70s new wave scene, and Ayr Pavilion has exactly the kind of classic old venue feel that makes this show come alive. It is the perfect setting for a night of timeless hits, sharp style, punk-pop energy and pure Blondie attitude.
Established in 2001, Bootleg Blondie are one of the UK’s most respected tribute bands and the only Blondie tribute to have performed with two original founder members of Blondie: legendary drummer Clem Burke and songwriter, bass player and author Gary Valentine.
The band were also thanked on Blondie’s 11th studio album, Pollinator, and have even played the world-famous CBGB in New York City — the spiritual home of the scene that gave Blondie their edge.
In 2019, Bootleg Blondie joined forces with Clem Burke for two UK tours under the name CBBB — Clem Burke & Bootleg Blondie — celebrating 40 years of the iconic Parallel Lines album. Those tours played to thousands of fans across the country and underlined just how close this band sits to the spirit of the real thing.
Fronted by Debbie Harris, Bootleg Blondie capture the look, voice, energy and attitude of Debbie Harry and Blondie at their best. Expect the classics, the swagger, the hooks and the songs that helped define an era — from disco floors to punk clubs and radio playlists across the world.
Bootleg Blondie have performed at major venues and festivals across the UK and Europe, including the Isle of Wight Festival, the 100 Club, Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Hammersmith Palais, Electric Ballroom, Eric’s Liverpool and Dingwalls.
On Saturday 10 October, they bring that history, sound and style to Ayr Pavilion — a classic venue for a classic Blondie night.
