Bandcamp is launching three new radio stations for electronic, indie, and video game music.
The world’s largest online music marketplace, Bandcamp’s new shows will feature conversations with artists and explore the best new music.
The electronic radio show hosted by international DJ Emily Dust launched at the end of February, focusing on cutting-edge electronic music. Its debut featured UK electronic artist Nathan Fake, who joined to discuss his influences, creative process, and the scene’s evolving landscape.
The indie show, hosted by Bandcamp Daily’s Senior Editor Mariana Timony, launched on 4th March to highlight independent artists and labels. Its first episode saw John Dwyer of Osees join for an interview.
The electronic and indie shows will rotate, trading off the Wednesday slot every other week.
The quarterly gaming radio show, hosted by Bandcamp Daily’s Editor Zoe Camp, launches on 30th March to explore the world of video game music. The show will feature composers, developers, and artists, spotlighting the creativity behind game soundtracks and gaming music’s growing popularity and influence.
The new radio shows join the already established programs from Bandcamp Radio, including Bandcamp Selects and the brand’s metal and hip-hop shows.
In other Bandcamp-related news, vinyl sales on the platform will count towards UK chart positions for the first time.
Bandcamp also recently banned AI music, pledging to “keep Bandcamp human.”
The platform also launched a new curator-led subscription service in September, named Bandcamp Clubs. The news followed the announcement of the return of Bandcamp Fridays.
