For the first time, vinyl sales on Bandcamp will contribute to an artist's chart position in the UK. Previously, they were not counted unless the digital version of the album was also downloaded.

As reported by Music Week, Coventry-based e-commerce and fulfilment specialists The Pack Group secured the ability to report their clients' physical sales on Bandcamp to the Official Charts Company. It's seen as a win for the independent artists who use the platform and have a chance to chart higher, especially in within genre niches.
