Free workshops are being offered in Birmingham to help emerging artists build careers in the music industry.
The Arts Council-funded initiative by Sansom Studios in Wythall, named Spotlight on Birmingham, is a new opportunity for emerging music creators aged 18-35 in Birmingham.
The sessions offered will cover a range of topics, including music production and promotion, navigating the industry, mental wellbeing, social media growth, and building a sustainable career.
Applicants must be aged 18-35 and must be based in or have strong ties to Birmingham. Artists of all genres can apply.
Applicants must also be an emerging artist (less than five years of professional experience in the music industry). This also means applicants must not have yet signed a major label deal or consistently earned a full-time income from their music. Independent releases, grassroots performances, and self-funded projects are encouraged.
Six artists will also be selected from the applications to take part in a professionally filmed live session and artist interview at the studio.
The deadline for applications is 20th September 2025.
