Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum presents Jamaica Rum Tings with Goldie

To commemorate Jamaica's independence, Wray & Nephew will be hosting a Jamaica Rum Tings party at The Big Chill House on Saturday 2nd August. 

Jamaica Rum Tings is a celebration of Jamaican culture and the parties will boastfully reflect the island's unique way of life. Having been at the heart of many Jamaican celebrations throughout the years, Wray & Nephew Overproof Rum prides itself on being a significant part of Jamaican culture.

Drum n bass stalwart Goldie will be playing an exclusive reggae set for the party, showcasing his understanding and passion for the genre which stems from his Jamaican heritage. The drum n bass trailblazer is widely glorified for his celebrated jungle work, with his sets only involving music he genuinely believes in (check out his Boiler Room set above).

Joining him will be the DJ and MC Wreck It Up Crew, Rootikal, reggae and dub DJs Real Roots and the Reggae Soundclash with Rompa Reggae Shack, who will all be embarking on an essential journey through Jamaica's rich musical history. Expect to skank to the latest tracks whilst saluting the original riddims that inspired them.

Elsewhere look out for the People’s Gallery - a visual story of Jamaican imagery and influence, as well as an exclusive Director’s Cut screening of two Dazed and Confused Music Nation documentaries on UK bass music, containing previously unseen footage. 

Of course there will be plenty of authentic Jamaican grub on offer, with renowned chef Andi Oliver cooking up a a special menu featuring unique twists on Jamaican classics, plus a jerk BBQ that will sizzle taste buds on the roof terrace until 7pm.
