[WAM] hosting local heroes Slydigs and more
at Parr Hall on 16th March 2018

WArringtonMusic.co.uk celebrating 5th birthday of supporting music in Warrington.

A show celebrating 5 years of local and unsigned artists is on course for a sell out with over 650 tickets sold with over a month to go until local heroes, Slydigsheadline a night of live music at the prestigious Parr Hall Theatre on Friday 16th March, featuring four of the best artists in the town.

Recently announced as a support to Def Leppard at the Royal Albert Hall on 25th March, Slydigs spent much of 2016 on tour with The Who, across a 19 date North American & European arena tour, earning themselves rave reviews. In 2017, the band released their latest EP, 'How Animal Are You' supporting it with a headline tour across UK & Europe proving that Slydigs have a thriving and ever growing fan base.

The show was the first to be booked at the Parr Hall, with a Warrington band headlining since Viola Beach were scheduled to play in October 2016. Also playing on the night are The K's who have over half a million streams of their debut single 'Sarajevo' over on Spotify, Psyblings who leave a trail of dropped jaws across every venue they play and Electro Funk Soul Collective, The Winachi Tribe who start march off with a tour across the west coast of America, including a show off Hollywood Boulevard.

The show will also be filmed and streamed across the world, as well as being broadcast live on Radio Warrington (1332am).

WarringtonMusic.co.uk spent the much of 2018, establishing partnerships with local organisations including Warrington Wolves, which has led to local artists having their tracks played in front of over 10,000 Rugby League fans at half time.

Over the years, as well as hosting gigs across the town including two in the Bus Interchange, over 6000 tracks have also been downloaded from the WarringtonMusic.co.ukwebsite with 130,000 cumulative views on over 400 Youtube videos produced since [WAM] formed.

On the announcement of the show, founder of WArringtonMusic.co.uk, Lee Harman says: ?It is a great honour to be putting on such a great showcase of local artists in the Parr Hall. I have always wanted to host a gig in the venue, and it is great that I get to do that with Slydigs, who were headliners of our first ever [WAM] showcase. They went to on tour across the world with The Who and I know they're going to be great in front of their biggest headline show.

?As the first show to have been booked after the tragic events two years ago, when we lost Viola Beach and manager, Craig Tarry, it is important to remember them appropriately during the show, the town?s music scene owes them so much.

?I set up [WAM] in 2012 to support live, grassroots music in my town because I believed that

Warrington bands could thrive as long as they have a platform and the right help there is so much talent and we are starting to see others take note.

?Slydigs, The Winachi Tribe, Psyblings and The Ks are all very different bands in their own right ? but the things that connect them is their talent, dedication to their craft and love of Warrington.?

On the announcement of the bands biggest headline show, Slydigs Frontman Dean Fairhurst said:

?This gig is a milestone for us and signifies just how far we have come from starting out in Warrington many years ago, not just for us but for the community and organisations like [WAM] who have backed us all the way and are the back bone of the music scene in Warrington, they are the ones that keep it alive. We hope to involve as much of the community as possible for this.

?It will be our biggest Headline show to date and for it to be in our home town is incredible. It?s our true home coming. Now to announcing this very special headline show at the biggest, most prestigious music venue in the town is, for me such a special occasion.

There's a great supporting line up also on the bill of all local acts so you can understand why this is event is not to be missed. We are planning something very special for this so buy your ticket and we'll see you down the front. Peace and love."
