Voodoo Disco announces 6th Birthday at Brighton I360
Chicago House Music pioneer DJ Pierre (Creator of Acid + Wildpitch genres/Member of phuture) will be headlining our landmark event.
Back in 1986 DJ Pierre was creating a sound which would impact the music scene forever ‘acid house’ was in its pre-infancy when DJ Pierre produced the legendary ‘acid tracks’ using the Roland TB-303, to create those warm & fuzzy tones that defined the genre of acid house music.
Joining Pierre on the line up is London born Grace (aka Dominique Atkins) the acclaimed dance music singer.
Her mammoth success as member of Grace, Mekka, The Space Brothers and Ursula's World include the hit singles ‘Skin On Skin’, ‘If I Could Fly’, ‘Down To Earth’, ‘I Want To Live’and not forgetting the forever etched ‘Not Over Yet’. This is Grace’s only date so don’t miss out on what might be the last ever performance!
Grace co-wrote and sang on Tilt's 1999 mega hit single "Invisible" which brings us to another treat for this special night..
As part of their 30th Anniversary Tour, TILT will be performing a Live set with band and percussion. TILT have DJ’d and performed all over the world supporting big names such as Paul Oakenfold, Simply Red and MTV.
TILT are registered on the official Chart Encyclopedia in the UK and have 7 hit single's. TILT’s production and remix portfolio is second to none; U2, Dido, Kasabian, Arctic Monkeys, Paul Van Dyk, Inner City, Boy George and Paul Oakenfold to name a few, not forgetting the collaboration with the late, great, Malcolm McClaren, (Manager of The Sex Pistols) on Lakme – ‘The Bell Song’.
Also performing will be Andy Robinson a Ninja Tune music producer with music that has been licenced to big name brands such as Budweiser, Nintendo, Adidas, Miller Light and in-game music for PlayStation & Codemasters with music landing on Fifa 2020. His extensive catalogue includes time in commercial studios recording bands and voice-over artists for in-game content for Sony.
Get ready to groove with Chris Bretten, an iconic figure from the Madchester & Hacienda era. With residencies dating back to the 90’s and performances alongside legends like The Stone Roses and New Order, Chris is the epitome of musical excellence.
You can expect lots of classics to transport you to a magical time, new music that will have you in awe and if you're really lucky, you may even hear a Chicago House track or two!
