Tucked is the brunch event where everyone can be unashamedly themselves. Having started in Ibiza in 2021, it brought drag, drinks and laughter to the White Isle with queens that light up the room and special guest DJs dropping banger after banger.

Now, Tucked is heading to London for the first time, bringing some much-needed heat to the December streets. All the best elements of Ibiza are being shipped to the capital and their event on Saturday 2nd December will feature a set from Gok Wan. We spoke to Tucked's Nick Sheehy to learn all about a brunch event that champions individuality and expression.

Tucked’s first shows of 2023 were in Ibiza, how would you describe the energy that your events brought to the island?

"When I first decided to attempt to make Tucked a thing in Ibiza, I did it because there were no LGBTQ events happening besides a couple of events in super clubs, so I thought I would bring a bit of sparkle to Ibiza with a drag show. This year was like a movie, every week it got better and better, with sell out show after sell out show. We really made our stamp on the island and it was one of the highlights of my career in events. Seeing everyone up dancing and singing along just after the famous sunset was one of the best feelings."

What would you say were some real standout moments from your time in Ibiza this year?

"There are so many incredible moments from the summer. I have been living and working in Ibiza full time for over 5 years now and this year was a special season for Ibiza, so many more people than previous years and it's clear Ibiza is still as popular as ever. One of the standout moments has to be when I had Wayne Linekar & Tony Truman (owners of O Beach) in drag + Dean Gaffney up on the catwalk strutting his stuff. The videos are on Tucked Ibizas socials, they’re brilliant!"

When you first started Tucked, what did you want to achieve with it?

"I started Tucked in 2019 but the pandemic put this on hold. I attempted to do events in 2020 but with so many restrictions we only managed a handful of events but every one sold out. Since then, I had the opportunity to manage a nightclub in Ibiza called Pikes, and I had put any ideas of Tucked being a thing to the back of my mind after the stress of the pandemic and a big financial loss."

"But then I got a call from Tony Truman to see if I could put Tucked back on and within a month I had the show, music & queens ready to take on Ibiza. My original plan was to bring some silliness and fun to the island, sometimes people in events forget its meant to be fun and I think this shone a light on what's been missing in Ibiza for a while now and from the response I got, it's clear Tucked is there to stay for the foreseeable!"

You’re bringing the event over to London, has it always been a goal of yours to bring Tucked to the city?

"Yes, definitely! Tucked is only getting started. I'm originally from SE London so to be able to bring this event back to where I am from feels extra special. London City is a magical place to be, although often rainy and gloomy the multicultural & vibrant people of London really make the events scene one of the best in the world so its exciting to be back doing events in London."

Gok Wan has been announced as your special guest, what do you feel he will bring to your brunch event?

"I met Gok at Pikes this summer. He was playing a couple of times and I was in the middle of Tucked blowing up in Ibiza and when I saw the crowds reaction to his set I knew I had to get him in for Tucked. He’s not only a great DJ, he’s so nice to work with, a true good human. Gok is going to be bringing that extra sparkle after the drag show and also that Ibiza spirit through his selection of house classics & disco. Gok has been a household name for a long time now so its really exciting to have him play for Tucked, Im excited to see the crowd go wild, he really knows how to get people dancing!"

In terms of the tracks being played, what can people expect to hear from the DJs?

"The music policy at Tucked is varied but as we are an Ibiza style drag brunch, you have to expect the big disco and house classics plus we do throw in a few curve balls in our drag show with some famous pop numbers that everyone couldn't help but sing along to. By the end of the 1st half it was hard to make everyone sit down, in the end we gave in and let everyone join in the show. If anyone is coming to a Tucked event its a good idea to do a little vocal warm up on the train!"

You also have a selection of queens performing throughout the night, what kind of personalities are you bringing?

"I have found some incredible queens, one of them being Joan Oh who is an old friend of mine. Joan Oh is one of my favourite people and I owe a lot of thanks to them for the success of Tucked. Without Joan Oh Tucked wouldn't have been as incredible as it was this summer."

"I also have Bonnie Oui Laddie & Gerri Lavazza who are equally incredible and have been a pleasure to work with, these 3 are only divas on stage and not off. These 3 all are based in Barcelona and are flying in for this next event. I also have Lucinda B.Hind & Kitty Sark joining the Tucked family for the first time, and all 5 queens bring a different energy and vibe to their performances. This brunch will be far from boring!"

How will you be getting people up and involved? Is there a lot of audience immersion at your events?

"Once everyone has finished their food, we want everyone to be involved in Tucked. We have lots of audience participation, lots of shots to hand out and a few silly games to play too. We dont want anyone to feel self conscious or nervous, Tucked events are about letting your hair down and just getting stuck in so I’m hoping this London audience is as rowdy as the ones in Ibiza…I have a feeling they might."

In terms of the future, where could Tucked potentially be landing next?

"I have some very exciting projects in the pipeline that sadly, I can't talk about just yet but there are plans to take Tucked to other countries and a few special events & festivals planned for 2024. If I could take Tucked into space I would!"
