Known for his early contributions in Massive Attack and being a part of the collective The Wild Bunch, Tricky's solo career has been a pivotal moment within the music industry, which added a new frontier for Black British music. Especially with his 1995 album, ‘Maxinquaye’. And in 2026, Tricky returns to announce his new album, 'Different When It’s Silent' and latest single, 'Out Of Place' featuring long-time collaborator Marta Złakowska.
Marking Tricky's first LP in six years, the album also draws on the Bristol scene that shaped Tricky’s early career, with contributions from local singer Mitch Sanders, having been recorded between Tricky’s current home in France and sessions in Bristol.
Set to be released on Friday 17th July 2026, 'Different When It’s Silent' promises a return to the “distinctive sonic language” that has defined the UK artist’s catalogue. The announcement.
Though Tricky hasn't been on hiatus when it comes to music -releasing music under multiple different monikers, including Lonely Guest and the Fifteen Days project with producer Mike Theis under the name Theis Thaws - his newest album will follow his 2020 release 'Fall to Pieces'.
2026 will also be when Tricky commences his UK and European tour, with Marta Złakowska as his special guest. Starting on Sunday 10th May in Nottingham, following through to Dublin, London, Manchester, and Bristol.
