Tickets are on sale for a brand-new music festival which will see the return of pipers to one of Moray?s most well-loved parks.

The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will round off 10 hours of non-stop music at Forres Live: Party At Grant?s next May 9 in a new event which is hoped will attract thousands of people to the town.

A dozen bands are booked for the one-day event including award winning folk artiste Luke Jackson and local Indie band Be Like Pablo.

The last time pipers played en masse at Grant Park was at Piping At Forres which ended in 2018 after a six year run.

And those bagging their tickets by November 14, will be treated to an early bird discount.

Gerry Verner of ESL Live which is the company behind the event said his team hopes to create a great day out.

He said: ?We have a sensational line up of bands which we are bringing to Forres and there is such an eclectic mix of music that there will be something to suit all tastes. The event has been in the planning for about a year and as it has developed it has grown from being just a couple of acts to the 12 amazing bands that we have now.

?There will be two stages ensuring that there is non-stop music from start to finish, there will be food and drink vendors and we also have some other exciting spectacles up our sleeves as well which we will reveal closer to the date.

?We really want to create a festival feel in the park and hope that people will come along and just chill out and enjoy listening to some great music. I have wanted to stage an event in Forres for a long time. It is a great town and Grant Park is such a fabulous venue. The great thing about Forres Live is that the main stage is undercover so whatever the weather, the gig will go on.?

Bespoke house builder Excel Scotland, which is run by Gerry and his wife Gayle, is the title sponsor for the event which will also raise money for Maggie?s Highland.

?I learned of Maggie?s Highland quite recently,? explained Gerry, ?I was taken with what the charity does so thought that we could help raise funds via Forres Live. Twenty-five per cent of the profit made on ticket sales will be donated to the charity. They are completely self-funded and to run the centre in Inverness it costs £500,000 a year, so we are planning a great event to ensure that we can help this great cause.?
