As hip hop tag teams go, they are up there with the best of them. The smoked out pairing of Method Man and Redman, the Wu Tang enigmatic lynchpin and Brick City’s wile out party starter, have been always been one of the most alluringly charismatic partnerships the genre can muster.

The duo first started recording together in the mid-nineties, famously working on the single ‘How High’ off the soundtrack to the Def Jam documentary The Show, and gifting 2Pac some east coast pedigree on his double disc masterpiece All Eyez on Me with ‘I got my Mind made Up’. They then released a joint album entitled Blackout! in 1999 (stream above on Spotify).

With a rapport built almost entirely on their extra-terrestrial chemistry, as well as a love for a certain green plant, the album showcased their party starting acumen to devastating effect. It then led to a film How High, with Method Man’s acting ability also being seen as Cheese Wagstaff in the show regarded as the finest TV show of all time by many, The Wire.

The duo will be showcasing their joint work alongside several highlights of their individual solo careers, and Method Man’s impact as one of the nine emcees of the incredible Wu Tang Clan. You can catch them in Manchester on Friday 18th July at The Ritz.
