ACCCIIIIIIEEEEEEEED! Although the D-Mob record which made this refrain infamous in the late eighties isn't the strongest record from that time period, that chant encapsulates that feel-good familiarity of acid house. The music was though, of course, much more important than that, a revolutionary form of otherworldly machine movements that defined a generation and built a brand new way of letting go. And at the centre of it was the Hacienda.

The Manchester club was such an integral force in the adoption of house music that it lives on as a hugely successful club tour brand (it hits Preston next month), and helped pioneer the careers of resident DJs Mike Pickering, Graeme Park and Dave Haslam. Another of their vaunted residents was Jon Dasilva, and it's a mix of his live from the Hacienda way back in 1991 that we are getting our grind on this Thursday.

Jacking techno beats, stuttering drums and those magic 808 squelches; this mix has got the lot, and has ensured Skiddle HQ has been thrusting to its power in a desperate attempt for the weekend to arrive early. It's amazing that a DJ mix now twenty five years old can make people dance with such intensity. Jon now resides in Stockholm, but is returning back to Manchester for New year's eve where he'll be headlining the fun at one of our favourites venues, Manchester basement 2022NQ.
