It's beginning to look a lot like you need things to do in Cardiff this Christmas, and whilst some of you may already have the tree up - no comment - the rest of you will still be in the planning stages for what to do when the temperature drops, the lights come out, and Santa comes to town.

However, don't worry, as here on Skiddle, we've got so much for you to choose from that you won't need to go anywhere else for your Christmas events. There are huge boxing day bonanzas, cold winter nights in the groove with some of the country's best DJs, and even some local live music from some of Cardiff's best up-and-coming bands.

So while it might be tempting to stay snuggled up inside with a hot chocolate and a Baileys until Christmas eve, we will be making the most of all the amazing Christmas activities in Cardiff, and we want to see you down at the front, boogying off the Winter chill with us. Hotbox Cardiff

Where: Vaults Cardiff in Cardiff

Many of us associate house and techno music with sunswept beaches and outdoor summer raves, but, come the Christmas season, Cardiff's underground rave scene is still in full flow, one more so than at Hotbox on Boxing Day. A debut event where the highest quality of production, is blended with the absolute best house & Techno, to create a truly groovy night that will have you dancing off the calories you've picked up over the festive period.

Not only this but the event is housed in Cardiff's iconic Vaults venue, the city's centre of underground raves and late-night debauchery. There's little else to say if you haven't already been swayed, so we'll see you down at the front his Boxing day for a boogie, it's going to go off!

CYNT w/ Folamour at District

When: Saturday 10th December 2022

Where: District in Cardiff

From France to Wales, the people of CYNT have secured an absolute hero of the modern house music scene, Folamour. The French producer specialises in uplifting, melodic, disco-infused house music, which never fails to get shoulders and hips gyrating to beat. The people of Cardiff who attend this epic night in December will be treated to a night of pure vibes and there are few Christmas days out Cardiff can offer that is better.

It's a party that will go down in CYNT history and should be on everyone's wishlist for Santa this year. However, the event is close to selling out, so get them tickets asap, we don't want any fomo this festive period!

Tutti Frutti, Xmas Tutti

When: Tuesday 20th December 2022

Where: Revolution Cardiff in Cardiff

This iconic Tuesday night in Cardiff city centre will be on the cards for many this Christmas. Not only because Tutti Frutti has some of the most fun in any club night around the country, with £1 drinks, Water Pistols, Free Sweets, Toilet confessionals, and even, Cardiffs only all-girls room, which plays exclusively female-anthems! It's always a belter of a night, and for their Christmas special, everyone's gonna be rocking around their Christmas trees.

Bingo Lingo - Cardiff - Step Into Christmas

When: Friday 23rd December 2022

Where: Depot in Cardiff

Cardiff’s most popular Bingo Extravaganza, Bingo Lingo, is returning for its Christmas extravaganza in one of Cardiff's favourite venues, The Depot. You may have to leave Nana at home for this one, as these ones descend into mayhem of the best kind (that she may disapprove of) pretty quickly. Prepare yourselves for an unrivalled experience of dance-offs, twerk-offs, silly awards, and the chance to win festive prizes that will change your life forever!

Quids In // Xmas Quids

Where: Pryzm Cardiff in Cardiff

Cardiffs self-proclaimed home of VKS, Pryzm will be bringing a very special Christmas edition of their iconic Quids in the night so all the students, and a few of us that don't fancy spending a lot of a night out, and enjoy a night of certified bangers as it begins to look a lot like Christmas. The night will be hosted by the Cardiff and Pryzm icon that is Ted, and whether he dresses like Santa or not, he will be providing everyone with a present this festive season. So if you like your nights out tinged in Cheesy Dance, Hip Hop, Pop, and R&B then there's only one place you should be this December. So get them tickets secured as no one wants festive fomo.

Xmas Revs

When: Wednesday 21st December 2022

Where: Revolution in Cardiff

Cardiff's legendary Xmas party returns to Revolution this year, for a night of snow-soaked debauchery and good times with your pals. With three rooms of music supplied by some of Cardiff's best DJs, Revs promises the night will be the most festive event in the capital, and we want you to be there right at the front boogying the night away. Just be warned, by the end of the night we'll be surprised if you be having a very merry Christmas indeed.

The Winter Big Bash Tour

When: Sunday 18th December 2022

Where: The Globe in Cardiff

If you're less inclined to DJ decks and late nights and prefer the sound of a drum beat and a guitar line, well, this is the place for you this Christmas time. A comprehensive selection of 'Up to 11’s' best bands to watch, with a focus on Welsh homegrown artists, this night at the Globe of the weekend before Christmas is set to be everything a fan of live music could want, and something that even Santa couldn't bring you (it's hard to get an amp down a chimney okay.)

The night will be soundtracked by Pontypridd Indie Pop trio THELIXX, a sound you’d find in the hallway between a The 1975 and Glass Animals recording session; South Wales-based Indie Rock 5-piece Pavilion Rd, who have just released their debut single ‘Airhead’; as well as, other South Welsh locals Seeweed and Faultline. It's a pure festive celebration of Wales's grassroots scene and any fan of underground guitar music has to be there.
