Manchester pub and live venue The Star & Garter has undergone a Manchester City rebrand for this bank holiday weekend. Renamed The Stones & Silva, the Blue Moon-themed pub opens today, Thursday 21st May, and runs until Sunday 24th.
The Stones & Silva commemorates eponymous players John Stones and Bernardo Silva, who will depart the club after ten and nine seasons respectively this summer. The pair were instrumental in the club’s immensely successful stint in the late 2010s and 2020s, which has seen Manchester City win a continental treble - including a maiden UEFA Champions League title - in 2023, and four consecutive league titles, the first team in English top-flight football to do so. This season saw City come up short in the Premier League against recently crowned Arsenal, but the pair leave the club with a domestic cup double of the FA Cup and EFL Cup.
The Stones & Silva features City paraphernalia spread throughout the venue, a specially designed dart board paying tribute to the pair’s careers at the club, and the team’s recreation of the iconic cover of Oasis album Definitely Maybe.
Entry to The Stones & Silva is available on a first come, first serve basis, with the first 100 fans each day receiving a complimentary pint of club partner Asahi.
