Wunderhorse

When: Wednesday 25th January 2023, and Monday 27th March 2023

Where: The Cavern Club in Liverpool, and Hare And Hounds in Birmingham

Coming off the back of a sensational support run with Dublin superstars Fontaines DC, Wunderhorse are set to bring a run of their own show to venues around the country, bewitching crowds with their restrained, reflective post-rock sound. Jacob Slater, frontman of the band, has played the role of Sex Pistols’ Paul Cook in Danny Boyle’s Pistol and was the frontman of the now-disbanded punk outfit The Dead Pretties, but with Wunderhorse, the esteemed musician has gone for a softer touch, and the results are mesmeric. They are set to become the next big thing in their genre and are more than already on such a trajectory. So catch them now, they won't be in venues this size for long.

English Teacher - The Independent Venue Week tour

When: Friday 3rd February 2023

Where: The Ferret in Preston

Leeds bunch English Teacher excel in the 'on-point sort-of-post-punk-but-not-really-and-definitely-more-enthusiastic controlled racket' that has found their last year drop ‘R&B’ blasting out of many fans speakers, and their current EP Polyawkward, met with huge acclaim. Born in 2020, the band have pricked the ears of listeners on a national scale with their unique sound, and even won Glastonbury's coveted Emerging Talent Competition. The world is their oyster at this moment in time, and they aren't showing any signs of slowing. This special show, for Independent Venue Week, sees them pack into the intimate room of The Ferret in Preston, for a show of smaller proportions, that you may struggle to see again given their trajectory. So get your tickets asap, as it's going to be a belter.

Rats

Scouse street buskers turned indie sensations Rats have been on a steady incline over the past few years, and have captured the hearts and minds of many working-class music fans with searing tunes filled with social commentary. Louis Berry

When: Sunday 18th December 2022

Where: Stereo Glasgow in Glasgow

Whilst for many Louis Berry falls into the category of acoustic singer-songwriter, we think he's more suited to the title of dancefloor arsonist, as his searing brand of acoustic indie rock has been setting rooms alight for years now. After taking some time away from live gigs to record his eagerly awaited debut album, Louis is ready to hit the road with many new songs under his belt, and of course some you already know and love. He has often touted Glasgow as his favourite place to gig, and we think you need to see it for yourself, so, get ready for a fun electric night and a good old sing-along, as Louis always delivers.

Peter Hook & The Light

When: Friday 14th April 2023

Where: Old Fire Station in Carlisle

This is one band that needs little introduction. Peter Hook and the Light have been keeping the essence and love of Joy Divison and New Order alive in the hearts of fans across the country for years now. Their setlists always make exciting reading, and Hooky and the Light really know how to put on a show. Having come to amass around 600 shows in the decade since their first concert, with many gigging runs concentrating around specific Joy Division and New Order albums, it's easy to see why we're recommending this one. Whilst the shows in their native Manchester are always the biggest, this one in Carlisle Old Fire Station will do everything but disappoint. Secure those tickets and don't let your fomo tear you apart... again.
