The purpose of the Big Gig is to provide a huge party for John Govier who for the past 21 years has supported emergent and established musicians from the South West on his radio show for BBC Radio Devon. John has now retired from Radio and is now becoming an ambassador for South West Music.
The Festival is an opportunity for bands and artists who John has supported, to say a big thank you to him. Proceeds from the Festival are going to be reinvested in the local music business. Tickets will go towards supporting some of the South West?s brightest talent, so come along to the Big Gig and join in with this unique party celebrating the best of the South West music scene.

I Love this opportunity to showcase the amazing talents right at out doorstep, and to essentially give back to the supporting music industry and John Govier!
As well as the idea and formation behind this fantastic festival, it could not of been put together without the contribution of all the artists. Such as...

Poppy Mills who is a 16 year old soprano who has been described by The Royal Academy Of Music UK as having a phenomenal voice, she has also performed at a number of events for the BBC, Sky TV, HEART FM, to name but a few.

The Sherpa?s, who are a British band that put the groove into back into the indie scene, taking influence from 70/80s funk and soul and fusing with modern alt rock.

The Rising who are a modern alternative-rock band wanting to put their home town of Plymouth, UK on the musical map. And doing it Perfectly in my opinion!

As well as Soundlaunch which was designed in 2012 to help develop and promote young talented musicians!

Not forgetting... Alex & Vicki, Wise Intentions, Marcus McCoan, Dretonio, Tom Walker Trio,
Loose Cannons, Lionstar, Anthony Lane, 3B's, Sam Dowden, Sapphire, Sarah Yeo, Ska Au Go Go, Robin Brown and Sian Hoskin.
