The Independent Music Awards reveals the first 2025 nominees

The first nominees for the 2025 Independent Music Awards (AIM) have been revealed. Read more to check out who they are!

Returning for its 15th edition is the Independent Music Awards (AIM), which will take place at London’s Roundhouse on Tuesday 23rd September 2025, to celebrate independent musicians from the UK and beyond.

The nominees that have been announced so far for this year are Fontaines D.C., John Glacier, Oklou, Maverick Sabre, TAAHLIAH, and Moonchild Sanelly for the 'Best Independent Album' category. Plus, Ezra Collective, Fcukers, and anaiis, who have each received the 'milestone' double nominations, leading the shortlist for 2025.

And that's not all, as up for 'Best Independent Track Award' this year are Ezra Collective & Yazmin Lacey with ‘God Gave Me Feet For Dancing’, JIALING’s ‘Freaky Horns’, Jim Legxacy’s ‘father’, and Miso Extra & Metronomy’s ‘Good Kisses’, amongst others.

With a wide range of nominations for many dance music artists, including hard techno DJ Sara Landry and Glaswegian producer Corto.alto, who have been nominated as breakthrough acts. As well as Fcukers and Shygirl, who have each received nominations for ‘Best Independent EP/Mixtape’. 

This year's award ceremony will also see the comeback of ‘Best Independent Record Store’, after the introduction to the category last year. This is a public vote, so to place your votes, head to the Independent Music Awards (AIM) website.
