A hotbed for incredible acting talent and innovative new productions, award-winning shows seem to be popping up there every week. We thought we'd take a look at the very best musicals that you can find in London.

Moulin Rouge! The Musical

When: Wednesday 31st August- Friday 2nd December

Where: Piccadilly Theatre, London

This musical drops you right into the heart of a world of romance, glitz and glamour. Where bohemians and aristocrats rub elbows and celebrate. This take on Baz Luhrmann's film brings the story to life in a whole new way. A musical that leaves you buzzing with excitement, its an experience you won't forget.

Back to the Future- The Musical

When: Wednesday 23rd February- Friday 2nd December 2022

Where: Adelphi Theatre, London

Back To The Future is an all-time classic sci-fi film, but what if it was a musical? Well, you're about to go back in time and explore 1955 in a musical experience. Follow Marty McFly and Doc Brown as they attempt to get back to the future with a hugely impressive supporting cast.

Heathers The Musical

When: Wednesday 31st August- Friday 2nd December

Where: The Other Palace, London

Heathers takes place in Westerberg High where you're introduced to Veronica Sawyer who suddenly finds popularity after being taken under the wing of three cruel Heathers. It all goes South very quickly in this black comedy that quickly becomes brutal. An all-singing spectacle that has rocked the West End in recent years.

Bat Out of Hell

When: Friday 17th February- Saturday 1st April 2023

Where: Peacock Theatre, London

If you're a fan of Meatloaf you simply have to see Bat Out of Hell at some point in your life. It goes through all of the legendary artist's anthems, which is quite a lot to go through. It has delighted fans across the world and is very popular on the West End with high-octane performances and spectacularly over-the-top renditions of each song.

The Choir of Man

When: Tuesday 22nd February 2022- Sunday 12th February 2023

Where: Arts Theatre, London

The latest run of Choir of Man shows has been extended due to popular demand. Now lasting up until 2023, plenty more shows have been added to the show that covers some of the greatest hits from iconic artists such as Adele, Avicii, Guns' N' Roses and many more. A homage to the pub, watch nine guys harmonise perfectly and get you up off your feet.

Dear Evan Hansen

When: Tuesday 22nd February- Saturday 22nd October

Where: Noel Coward Theatre, London

Dear Evan Hansen has absolutely taken the West End by storm, it has taken three Oliver Awards in its time and has been praised as one of the most important musicals of its generation. It's a story about the struggle to find connection in a world where we seem to drift further and further apart. It's definitely one that will pull on the heartstrings.

From Here To Eternity The Musical

When: Saturday 29th October- Saturday 17th December

Where: Charing Cross Theatre, London

From Here To Eternity is finally getting a revival, the epic musical that is set against the backdrop of the attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941. We find ourselves following the lives of soldiers and illicit love as their lives are changed forever. Adapted from the classic James Jones novel, it is a worthy adaptation.

The Lion King

When: Tuesday 22nd February- Wednesday 30th November

Where: The Lyceum Theatre, London

The Lion King is one of the brightest musicals that you'll ever see. The show has been getting rave reviews for absolutely years now and there can be no surprise given how brilliant the production values are and how impassioned the performances are. Filled with classic songs from the film, the theatre show is a worthy adaptation.

Les Miserables

Les Miserables is one of the definitive musicals and unfortunately it doesn't have any London dates on at the moment but rest assured it will be back at some point. A story of impassioned liberty and class rebellion, it has some of the most well-written characters you'll find in any musical.

 


 

Wicked

Where: Apollo Victoria Theatre, London

Wicked is now in its 16th year at Apollo Victoria Theatre and it has become legendary within that time. One of the top ten longest-running musicals of all time, Wicked shows no signs of slowing down with a cast that is constantly refreshed with exciting new talents and most importantly still delightfully evil.
