Bristol?s B-boys The Allergies and Ugly Duckling?s Andy Cooper will bring their infectious hip-hop and rare groove to Brick Street on their UK tour.
The trio of collaborators are on their UK tour following the release of The Allergies third album Steal The Show in September and will perform at Brick Street on Thursday 4th October, with resident and Bonsai Hi-Fi founder Pooky on the bill too.
The funk and soul venue in the Baltic Triangle in Liverpool are having a hip hop fancy dress party to welcome this year?s freshers to the city. But everybody is welcome and it isn't a student-only event.
The first 50 tickets cost just £5 and are £10 once the earlybird tickets are sold out. Fancy dress is optional but the artists hope to see some fat gold chains, Adidas tracksuits and trainers and Kangol hats in the crowd.
Since their glorious debut As We Do Our Thing arrived with a bang in 2016 and introduced the world to Bristol?s favourite sons, The Allergies' lives have consisted of a tireless schedule of non-stop party rocking across Europe.
They have amazed at major festivals like Glastonbury and the legendary Space in Ibiza, while mixing up funky concoctions in the studio in between tours.
Over the course of two funk-fuelled albums on Jalapeño Records the dynamic duo of DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat have stacked up accolades and topped charts along the way.
The prolific duo has established themselves at the top table of funk, soul and hip-hop, with their spicy fusion of breaks. Taking classic sounds and reshaping them for the modern dance floor is what they do, and nobody does it better.
Their third full length album Steal The Show is a continuation of this momentum with the guys expanding even further on their sonic palette with more vocal features, more live instrumentation, and of course more funk!
Some familiar faces return to the fold with Andy Cooper (Ugly Duckling), Dr Syntax (The Mouse Outfit, Foreign Beggars) and Honey LaRochelle all contributing their vocal talents to the tasty beats served up by these chaps.
But the fun doesn?t stop there as the guys also bring in recent DOOM collaborators A.S.M, Fun Lovin? Criminal Uncle Frank, MC extraordinaire Skunkadelic, and soul/blues vocal powerhouse Izo FitzRoy to come join the party.
Their last album, Push On took the 2017 Album of the Year gong on BBC 6 Music, thanks to Craig Charles? constant championing. The Allergies are destined for big things and their gig at Brick Street will be their first in Liverpool.
A spokesperson for Brick Street said: ?DJ Moneyshot and Rackabeat are two of the most talented mixers we?ve ever heard.
'Their mixes on Mixcloud are phenomenal and their albums, particularly Push On are a sign of great things to come for them.
?This will be their first gig in our city and we?re having a bit of fun with the event, so we hope to see everybody in hip-hop themed fancy dress - which is of, course optional.
?So, If you want to just come and marvel at the skill of The Allergies and the legendary Andy Cooper from Ugly Duckling, everybody is welcome.'
Steal The Show will be released on Jalapeno Records on 28th September 2018 and be available on all digital, CD and LP formats.
