Known purely by her birth name, October is a singer songwriter, originally from Surrey. Perhaps best known as a soloist, October has so far preferred to be self-managed, considering it "part of the fun". Her unmistakeable vocal style is warm, husky and powerful. She has earned a loyal following, often being compared to Janis Joplin and Alanis Morissette. October plays live frequently, and has toured Europe and Australia. She has performed at many a high-profile venue, including Ronnie Scott's, Gothenburg?s Lisebergshallen Arena, London?s Excel, Birmingham?s Symphony Hall and Melbourne?s Espy. She self records, playing the electric and acoustic guitars, bass and drums. She has played numerous live sessions around the UK for the BBC, and her work has been used for international film. She has become well known on the surf scene, not just as a surfer and avid supporter of The Wave Project, but also through appearing in publications such as SurfGirl magazine, playing at British surf competitions and festivals, and featuring on the soundtrack of an American surf film. October is a regular on the festival circuit, playing the likes of Glastonbury and Boardmasters several times. 2013 saw her 4th Glastonbury appearance, and the successful self-release of her debut single 'Free Your Soul'. Her first album was distributed by Tunecore, and released in April 2014.
