Stockport’s spooky fiesta, Merseyday of the Dead, to return this Saturday

Taking place this Saturday, check out what Merseyday of the Dead 2026 entails

Date published: 23rd Oct 2026

This Saturday sees the return of Stockport's spookiest fiesta, Mersday of the Dead. Split into two time slots, the first half of day will run from 12 pm till 3 pm, where families can experience a free spooky trail, creepy crafts, sugar skull glitter tattoo makeovers and performances from the Three Amigos.

Then from 5 pm till 7 pm, the spirits will rise again, with an evening of safe trick-or-treating, Mexican folk dancing, games, slime-making, a Dance with the Spirits, and a spectacular Day of the Dead parade finale.

Set to take place at Merseyway and Redrock, they encourage everyone attending to go all out with their costumes for 2026. Whether it’s a spooky skeleton, a wicked witch, a favourite Halloween character or a Day of the Dead-inspired look, organisers say that there’s no such thing as “too much” for this year’s celebrations.

Victoria Nichol, Merseyway Centre Manager, said: “Last year’s Merseyday of the Dead was such a hit that we couldn’t let it rest in peace, so we’re bringing it back for Part 2." Continuing, "nd we really want families to get into the spirit of it this year, so bring out your best costumes! We want to see Stockport full of ghosts, ghouls, skeletons, and everything in between. It’s the perfect excuse to go all out and make a day of it."

Merseyday of the Dead is a completely free event to attend and will be the perfect day to see ghosts, ghouls, skeletons, and everything in between.
