Christmas Tree Ball Blackpool

The Imperial Hotel, Blackpool.

Back in the 80?s & 90?s Blackpool had an amazing annual event which usually took place on the last Saturday before Christmas at either the Tower Ballroom or the Empress Ballroom. The late Christopher Radcliffe Dearden organised it most years and it always featured a brilliant line up of music stars from Disco to Jazz to Big Band and in the 90?s Dance Music featured.

Sadly after Christopher?s death from multiple sclerosis in 2007 the event faded away only making a few appearances since. So we feel the time is right and we appeal to the revellers who used to get dressed up once a year to come and do it again.

Taking place in the beautiful Ballroom?s of The Imperial Hotel it is licenced for over 1200 people and features 3 arenas of amazing music and acts.

The main arena has now been announced and headlining is the 80?s Soul icon from the USA.... ALEXANDER O?NEAL ! Famous for his huge hits in the 80?s such as ?Criticize, Fake, Saturday Love (with Cherrelle) If You Were Here Tonight, Never Knew Love Like This and many more. He will be taking to the stage in the main arena alongside 90?s Soul Icon and lead singer for LIVIN IN A BOX - KENNY THOMAS ! Kenny had huge chart success in the 90?s with his hits ?Thinking About Your Love, Outstanding, Best Of You and many more.

Playing in support is Blackpool?s No1 party band TOUCH THE PEARL who are also support Alexander O?Neal on his sold out Show at Lowther Pavilion in Lytham in October.

Finalising the main arena line up is a great story of the 80?s as many will remember the nightclub at the Imperial hotel called TRADER JACK?s and we have secured the original resident DJ EDDIE GEE to provide the soundtrack to those days before super clubs moved into Blackpool and the clubs of the day were intimate and dressing up affairs so expect to hear all the big hits from his time at Trader Jacks back at his spiritual home at The Imperial Hotel.

The Second Arena is THE COSMIC BALLROOM a throwback to the Disco & House era with superstar DJ from New York City, USA - JOHN MORALES !

Support from Jaegerossa, Ed Mahon, Sam Stray Wood, Ade Holt, Jason Fubar, C-Percussion and Live Sax.
