David Ball, known as one half of pioneering duo Soft Cell, has passed away aged 66. The musical force behind the project, he helped to propel the group to the forefront of synth-pop in the 80's.
There's little doubt that his work will be remembered as some of the most influential within British pop music. Marc Almond, Ball's Soft Cell bandmate and collaborator paid tribute. “He will always be loved by the Soft Cell fans who love his music and his music and memory will live on. At any given moment, someone somewhere in the world will be getting pleasure from a Soft Cell song."
