Snoop Dogg biopic confirms 2027 cinema release date

Snoop Dogg's upcoming biopic has officially been given a cinema release date, with the film set to arrive in August 2027.

Titled Snoop, the film will chart the life and career of the hip-hop icon. Jonathan Daviss, best known for Netflix's Outer Banks, will take on the lead role, while Craig Brewer (Coming 2 America, Hustle & Flow) is directing.

The project is the first to be produced under Death Row Pictures, the rapper's content label, in partnership with Universal Pictures. Production duties will also see Snoop team up with producer Brian Grazer and Death Row Pictures president Sara Ramaker.

While the film's story is still being kept under wraps, it's yet to be confirmed whether it will explore Snoop Dogg's entire career or focus on a specific period of his life.

The biopic has been in development for several years, with earlier versions attached to different writers and directors before the current creative team was announced. It is now scheduled to arrive in cinemas on 6th August 2027.

Away from the biopic, Snoop is also set to appear in Don't Go in That House, Bitch!, an upcoming horror film from director Eli Roth (Hostel, Cabin Fever, Knock Knock), in which the rapper will both star and contribute to the soundtrack.
