As we get ready for a proper knees-up to celebrate 25 years of Skiddle, co-founders Ben Sebborn and Richard Dyer have been reflecting on the journey so far in a new feature with StandOut Magazine.

Titled “Ticket to the top”, the piece charts how Skiddle grew from a simple what’s-on guide into one of the UK’s go-to platforms for discovering events, helping millions find everything from club nights and gigs to festivals and unforgettable days (and nights) out.

What started as a side project between two friends back in 2001 has become a trusted name in UK nightlife, connecting fans with events up and down the country.

Along the way, Ben and Rich look back on the highs and lows - from the rise of digital ticketing to the challenges of the pandemic - all while staying true to Skiddle’s independent spirit.

Enough about the past, already - let’s talk about the party!

Plans are already underway for a huge anniversary celebration at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom, bringing together the people who’ve helped shape Skiddle over the last 25 years. Landing on Thursday 30th April, expect a night packed with live entertainment, awards, and plenty of dancing into the early hours, in true Skiddle style.

Fancy finding out more about how it all started, and what’s next? You can read the full feature with Ben and Rich via StandOut Magazine.
