Skiddle associates win big at DJ MAG's Best of British Awards 2021

Manchester party-starters, Animal Crossing and London-based nightclub/live music venue, FOLD - two of Skiddle's biggest clients - have both won awards at the prestigious DJ MAG Best of British Awards show. 

Celebrating homegrown talent and showcasing some of the many thousands of artists who continue to push the envelope of electronic music within the UK scene, the DJ MAG Best of British commemoration marked its impressive fifteenth year this year, with a special in-person event at London's Steel Yard yesterday (Thursday 16th December 2021). It's the first physical awards show to take place following the onset of the pandemic back in 2020.

This year's event focused on twenty-four categories in total, with votes coming from DJ MAG readers, covering everything from 'Best DJ' and 'Best Producer' to 'Best Radio Show', 'Best Club Event' and 'Best Small Club', the latter two of which we're picked up by our aforementioned friends and clients. 

Upon receiving the award for 'Best Club Event', Olli Ryder, son of Happy Mondays legend, Sean Ryder and figurehead of Animal Crossing, said:

"We feel humbled, motivated, and inspired to keep pioneering, dedicating ourselves, and providing an experience for people. I mean, it's quite ironic — we've won Best Club Series but have never thrown a party in a club before. What makes us special is that unknown; no matter how many times you come, it will always be your first time. It’s a really poetic narrative to have... next year we’re looking to add Best Small Festival and Club to this award.”
