You might have read us gushing about Uber previously so we’ll spare you the lavish praise once again, but they are approaching the date where they welcome Sasha to Carlisle. So rather than do that we’ve instead invited Ki Creighton, the event’s co-promoter and leading resident, to give us a mix. And that he did, which you can stream below.

We also got on the blower to Ki to talk Uber…

Hi ki, for our readers who may not be aware who you are, introduce yourself.

I am the resident and Promoter at Uber in Carlisle & Owner of Under No Illusion Recording's , I also produce & remix tracks on various labels.

You've done us a mix, thanks! Can you tell us a little about it?

It’s a mix that I think shows the sound of Uber, starts off quite deep and techy and then picks up the pace nicely. It features some of my favourite tracks of the moment as well as my music from my label, and some of the productions and remixes I’ve made with my studio partner Kydus.

You mentioned you run Uber, and your next event brings the mighty Sasha to Carlisle. What can people expect from the party?

Uber is currently at peak power in both attendances and the calibre of act we are booking, we have never been in such a strong position with support from all angles. We were recently covered by Mixmag and that has set us up nicely to welcome Sasha and Denney up to Carlisle over august Bank Holiday weekend.

For this show people can expect a bigger club with a bigger sound-system and a surprise of two thrown in. We are back to the venue in which we held our now legendary Radio One big weekend Pre and after parties, so we are very excited about the prospect of this being home to us for the foreseeable future.

How difficult is it to run an event like Uber in Carlisle?

Recently with the acts we have been booking things have been all falling into place and the shows really well supported so that makes the general running of things flow nicely , it’s not always been like that, myself and Matt (Tyson, Uber’s other promoter) have had some hard pushes in the past. We are now seeing an influx of visitors to uber form other major cities in the country which is great and a way of showing us we are heading in the right direction.

Who would be your dream booking?

This is an easy one; Carl Cox. And one day we will nail this!

What lies in the future for both you and Uber?

For me personally I’m achieving some lifelong goals at present , I’ve managed to start up my label which is something I’ve always wanted to do. It’s being received so well with every new release with support from some big hitters like DJ Sneak, Derrick Carter , Yousef , Nic Fanciulli , Pete tong and Richie Hawtin .

I’m now producing tracks which is something that I’ve wanted to get involved with for a long time and just signed one of our EPs over to an amazing label. And the fact that Uber is doing so well just puts the cherry on the top of the cake. I’m also about to be a dad again for the third time in October as well so everything is falling into place nicely.

The future for UBER looks really bright we have plans to do the bigger parties at ‘The Venue’ as well as some more smaller parties at a new location in town. We will also be active in our hosting at other clubs as well as our involvement at various festivals throughout the year. The future is looking great.
