Our 10th birthday party Plan B Brixton with EXIST = Karizma + Atjazz + Magic Number, Sy Sez, Ted Lawrence & Peter Borg
Simply Salacious Parties celebrate 10 years of putting on some of the most talked about underground house music nights in London with a huge celebration taking place at Plan B in Brixton Saturday May 24th.
We have worked hard over the past few months to bring together 2 people who are possibly 2 of the most revered house music DJ's in the world for this event and we are delighted that they will be playing under their brand new project EXIST for the very first time in London.
EXIST is the brand new brain child born of two producer/DJ s that have made many waves in the dance music industry.
Karizma & Atjazz have set out on an epic journey of sound, this coupled with their energetic performances behind the decks (and other equipment!) has already gained them the festival performance thumbs up!. Both of their signature sounds are noticeable within the textures of EXIST's music but they have travelled a long way to find this new and exciting direction in which they are comfortable to output their noisy rhythmic noises. Magic Number complete the outfit with Ross on bass and Tom on drums. In short this will be a fantastic experience and a great performance.
We also welcome back Sy Sez, who has played at many of our parties over the past 7 years and rocked the floor every single time and we invite Ted Lawrence to pop his Salacious cherry too!
Ted is making a lot of noise on the London scene at the moment and is definitely a rising star and one to watch.
Simply Salacious founder Peter Borg will be closing the evening with a reflection of music that has rocked Simply Salacious dancefloors over the past ten years.

KARIZMA
Karizma grew up in Baltimore, United States, and he began to DJ for fashion shows and college parties at age of 13. In early 1980, Karizma landed a radio show with a non-profit National Public Radio station, WEAA, and his early style was a mix of house music and hip hop. Around the same time, Karizma met DJ Spen, and together with him, worked on a radio show at V103,the same station that he held a very popular weekend mix show with unruly records co-founders,Scottie B and Shawn Caesar.. Karizma and DJ Spen worked on a music production project with a record label, Jasper Street Company, and joined the House Music Production Group, the Basement Boys, and worked on remixes for musicians such as Mary J. Blige, Bob Sinclar, Lenny Kravitz to name a few.
In 2006, Karizma distributed his unreleased track, "Twyst this" to a few contacts including Gilles Peterson. Gilles Peterson introduced "Twysted" on his radio program, Worldwide on BBC Radio 1, and this track got chart in on top 14 in spite of it being on a white label product.[4]
In 2007, Karizma released a solo album, "A Mind of Its Own" on R2 Records, and made his official debut. Karizma was voted as Best DJ's of 2007 in the XLR8R magazine. In 2010, Karizma was nominated as the "Best Hometown Hero" on his home town, Baltimore city newspaper for his solo career progression traveling around the globe. In 2012, Karizma released a triple pack LP, "Karizma Collection 1999-2012", 500 copy limited editions including his classic songs, "Twysted" and "Power", individually hand sprayed each of the album sleeves. In 2013, Karizma's third solo album, a double pack, "Karizma Wall of Sound" was released.
ATJAZZ
Martin Iveson is a British composer known for his audio work within the video games industry and better known for his contributions to the world of music releases. Martin's music ranges from mainstream house music to deep house, hip-hop, and nu Jazz and he writes under the moniker Atjazz. Martin also owns and runs Atjazz Record Company.
From his misspent youth skateboarding the frontier towns of North Eastern England, Martin Iveson arrived into the UK?s Midland scene in the early nineties, here he was to take a job at a new computer games development studio by the name of Core Design Ltd., this company is now synonymous with Lara Croft and the series of Tomb Raider games.
Not content with scoring this, one of the world?s most famous video games, Martin left the company 13 years later to concentrate more on his own studio environment in which to channel his musical aspirations further, and invite other musicians and producers to do the same.
The success of his early works including his first EP ?Story? in 1996 led to the well-received album ?That Something?, which was later licensed in Japan by Sony/Kioon in 1998. This debut album also featured cover artwork by Fujio Akatsuka, very well known in Japan for his Illustrations and animated cartoons. With two further albums, ?Labfunk? & ?Labresults? following soon after, Atjazz had at this time established himself as a distinct and inspirational voice in the underground music scene.
Martin has also been a prolific remixer throughout his career remixing and reworking songs & works for artists such as Nitin Sawhney, Bob Sinclar, Jazzanova, Zed Bias & Omar to name but a few and was even requested to rework Henri Mancini?s ?The Pink Panther Returns? for EMI Records. Martin is still remixing heavily as he states that remixing has helped to launch his production techniques forward and it?s the perfect practice pitch for trying out new ideas and breaking the mould within a diluted industry. ?Remixing helps to hone your sound and allows the producer to print their trademark into another space?
Martin?s trademark sound has been requested on many occasions by top class vocalists including Clara Hill, Replife & Deborah Jordan for their own artist album projects and also rubbing shoulders with some amazing musicians & producers along the way. Martin has also teamed up with world-class production legend Charles Webster as ?Version? and are working on their debut album for Miso Records.
He launched his label Atjazz Record Company?, which has flown to great heights within the digital realm and has seen many fantastic and sought after releases including his 3rd long player ?Full Circle?. This label concentrates heavily on Martin?s productions and collaborations. Atjazz Record Company is a new chapter for Atjazz but with a continuation of his trademark sound.
MAGIC NUMBER
Ross Hillard is a writer, bass player and DJ. He writes under the name ?Magic Number? with drummer Tom Wardle.
Their first album was signed to Atjazz?s label and then licensed to Stereo Deluxe and Ministry of sound.
Magic Number now reside on Numb Records and are currently working on their new album. They are also working on an album with N?dinga Gaba which includes collaborations with Atjazz and have recently been working on live performances for Kerri Chandler too.
