Nigerian born Seun Kuti is set to tour the UK hitting Bristol's Fleece and Liverpool's Invisible Wind Factory this March with original band members of Egypt 80. Kuti is the son of the late, great afrobeat pioneer and activist Fela Kuti, and has now succeeded him in becoming the frontman of his father's band as the lead saxophonist and vocalist.

From as young as aged nine, Kuti Junior joined his father on stage to perform live and following the death of Fela, aged just fifteen, Seun took over and managed to embody the funk and jazz elements that make up the unique and distinct afrobeat sound.

As the son of the founder of the legendary African ensemble, Seun is the current youngest member of the band, with other members in their 50s and 60s having not only been the original performers with Fela, but were also arrested alongside him during the momentous afrobeat movement. On support on this tour is Lakuta.
