An exhibition will be held at the Lowry in Salford later this year, which will mark the 30 year milestone of The Smiths album The Queen Is Dead.

The inside gatefold cover of the vinyl (listen to 'This Charming Man' from the album below) was famously shot by Stephen Wright outside Salford Lads Club, which has become a local landmark over the years after the image became iconic.

Wright said, "It’s funny that one posed shot on an incredibly dark day in Salford has continued to pleasantly haunt me."

The photographic and soundscape exhibition will open on Saturday 9th April. Also showing at the Lowry is 30 Days of The Smiths, which is a sound installation by the artists Oberman Knocks, which has had the approval of Morrissey and Johnny Marr.

Oberman Knocks' audio soundscape premiers on Thursday 5th May.
