A name synonymous with beat making innovation is SBTRKT. The acclaimed producer (real name Aaron Jerome) has just unveiled a forthcoming new album Wonder Where We Land, which will have its Manchester inauguration at the city's Albert Hall on Tuesday 30th September.
His seminal self-titled debut LP was unanimously lauded for its hugely varied, bass rooted credentials and intelligent collaborative efforts with the likes of Jessie Ware, Little Dragon and Sampha.
In anticipation of the forward thinking producers newest full length sonic exploration, his latest track 'New Dorp.New York' (above) provides a snippet from the album, and all the signs point towards a slightly different approach with the artist exploring an even wider scope of electronic goodness.
The track itself features vocals from Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig, employing a chaotic tribal aesthetic with industrial percussion, infectious rhythms and crisp, inventive production, which when put together results in a record that you won't be getting out of your head any time soon.
Word is that the album will see SBTRKT join forces with Warpaint, A$AP Ferg, Coriline Polachek and Koreless suggesting further scintillating collective efforts, giving a rough inkling as to the evolution his sound has taken for his new LP.
Amidst all the guess work though, his set at the Albert Hall has all the hallmarks of a very special appearance indeed, and one that will be eagerly lapped up by those with even a passing interest in forward-thinking electronic music. Grab your tickets here.
