Bon Jovi, Tom Waits and Alice Cooper are among nominees for the Rock 'N' Roll Hall of Fame 2010.
15 acts from genres as diverse as rock, pop, hip hop and folk have been included in the nominations, announced today (28.09.10).
Over 500 record industry figures will decide who finally becomes a member of the hall of fame in the US in December.
Alongside 'Livin' On A Prayer' group Bon Jovi and legendary shock rocker Alice are rap group Beastie Boys, crooner Neil Diamond, British folk singer Donovan and funk group Chic, among others.
To be eligible for nomination artists must have made their debut release at least 25 years ago, or no later than 1985.
Joel Peresman, President and CEO of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation said: "We believe our nominating committee has put forth a list of artists that truly represent the wide variety of music that defines rock and roll."
The winners will be announced in December and honoured at an induction ceremony in New York in March 2011.
Inductees will also be represented with exhibits and memorabilia in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio.
