For a band that started out as a joke, punk trio The Coathangers seem to be taken pretty seriously by the rest of the world, as since their 2006 inception they've opened for the likes of The Black Lips and Refused.
Their sound blends stylistic punk vocals with gritty riffs and distorted chords. Their attitude certainly embodies punk, with song titles such as 'Shut the Fuck Up' demanding attention and unapologetically causing controversy.
Following the release of their 2016 album Nosebleed Weekend, the trio have announced a live run of dates in support of the release. The Atlanta band come to the UK to perform live and electric versions from their back catalogue of grungy garage tracks. They hit Manchester's Night and Day venue on Friday 12th May.
