The surge of events coming forward isn't all just about New year's Eve yanno. There's still plenty of parties for you to get your teeth into before the end of year hoedown comes around and here's two crackers for those of you inclined to an indie swagger in your step. Putting on shows in Liverpool and London, Dove and Defender's indie prowess has caught our eye recently and they've got two gigs coing up before New year's Eve hit us which hint at their musical commitment.

The first sees them getting behind the EP launch for Gorgeous George's 'Saturday Night' EP (stream 'When I go out on Saturday' form that above). They'll spotlight the group's latest opus in The Birdcage in Bethnal green on Wednesday 27th November, with the band been heralded by no lesser an authority than Rob da Bank as one of his favourite groups in recent times.

The Bestival founder also licensed 'When I go out on Saturday' to one of his Sunday Best compilations, and with the South London rapscallions also earning the praise of the Sunday Star and Dexy's Midnight Runner, a bright future looks almost certain. Support comes form the Din and Jersey Budd.

D&D's next event sees them hop up on a pendolino back up North to Liverpool, where they'll this time be spotlighting a selection of bands including Wanderlust in the recently re-opened Korova. One of the city's finest unsigned bands, they'll be supported by Coffee and Cakes For Funerals, with their rather unique fusions of Dre Dre and Radiohead, the Din again (whose stage ritoing has been seen at the Secret Garden Party), and then Jersey Budd and Breakfast Monkey.
