One of the best artists to have come out of the trance scene was without a doubt Lange. His 15 year career has produced some of the finest examples of trance music that we’ve ever been lucky enough to experience. With the release with his now classic remix of DJ Sakin & Friends ‘Protect Your Mind’ back in 1998, the world knew then that they had something of a wonder kid on their hands.

The years that followed saw his productions become firm favourites with industry giants Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, Paul Oakenfold and Judge Jules, gradually DJing alongside them and then likes of Ferry Corsten and Tiesto.

Now firmly established at the top of his field, often mentioned in the same breath as the aforementioned industry giants, his 15 year career has been simply monumental.

As part of his world tour celebrating his decade and a half in the trance consciousness, his visit to Manchester as part of the Wax Format presents show will commemorate the occasion with a vinyl only set featuring the finest in trance from 1997 - 2005, or the golden era as its often referred to.

Asked about his views on the night, the man himself gave us this comment “Like many DJs, I've not mixed vinyl on the 1s & 2s in a club for a long time; In fact it's got to be around 7 years! The Vinyl Era was a special time and mixing the plastic was arguably a more satisfying DJ experience that involved a higher level of technical skill. From a producer's point of view it was great to have that tactile end product that newcomers to the scene now sadly miss out on with digital-only releases. Music didn't feel as throw away in the Vinyl Era as perhaps it does today with the net driving peoples hunger for new tracks! I'm really looking forward to leaving the USB drive at home and playing it circa-1998-style.”

Headlining room two him will be UK hard house and hard trance hero Anne Savage. The Burnley born heroine and Tidy Girls member (along with Lisa Lashes) has been a mainstay of the scene, and can’t wait to get her records dusted off and ready for a highly anticipated rotation.

"I'm so excited to play my first vinyl set for many years at Wax Format. What's so good is that I can play some gems that just aren't around on a decent digital format. So many classics are rinsed because only limited selection are available online. As fans of Wax Format you'll already know that there's so much more personality to a vinyl set, besides the warmth in the sound. The fact that there's variables in every vinyl and turntable keeps us djs working hard to keep the mix locked and so is much more interesting to see! I can’t wait for my set on the 18th - see you all on the dance floor!!"

With loads more acts including Taucher, Sam Mitcham, Paul Pearson & Wayne Ellison in Room one with Lange; and Room two featuring Karim, Adam M, Brainbashers and Guyver; Wax Format is shaping up to be the ultimate nostalgic trip to the best days of trance and hard house.
