The Bestival line up additions keep on coming. The end of February saw details about the return of HMS Bestival and the Port to Robin Hill in September, and March has started with just as big a bang with three cracking additions to the festival in the summer in the shape of Paloma FaithBasement Jaxx and Candi Staton.

Paloma Faith is the very definition of unique. The sultry star has carved her own niche in the music terrain with her undoubted individuality, joining the lineage of other true British eccentrics such as Kate Bush, Annie Lennox and Marc Bolan who's music and attire remain gloriously flamboyant - perfect for the creativity of Bestival's fancy dress heritage.

Her soon to be released album A Perfect Contradiction has been heavily influenced by soul and disco music, making her a fantastic choice to close out the festival on Sunday in the Big Top. Watch her stunning performance of 'Picking up the Pieces' on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno above as an indication of what to expect.

On the topic of flamboyant festival frolics, Basement Jaxx are a duo that know a thing or two about that. Their live shows are raucous carnivals, a highlight of any UK festival goer for over a decade, and as headliners of the very first Bestival they know how to deliver. The presence of gospel, disco and soul diva Candi Staton also adds a delicious edge to proceedings, the voice of the classic 'You got the love' also sure to urge "young hearts to run free".
