In the first weekend of February 2002 Pasta Paul, as he was already known by then, following his love of music found himself living in Manchester.

To celebrate living in the musical mecca of the North he will be making his Funkademia debut at Mint Lounge in the back room on the 4th of February 2012. He's been working in record shops for all this time too starting at Virgin moving onto HMV and since 2005 to the present day Piccadilly Records. So it's no surprise to find that Paul has a wide ranging taste in music; indie, folk, dub-step, hip-hop, house, electro, world, latin, reggae, R&B, funk, disco, balearic etc.

But it's outside of work were Paul has shown his true Manchester passion. From being in a band and starting an open mic night developing into a fully fledged acoustic night. To helping out and partaking in various Manchester festivals such as MIF, In The City, Future Everything and EuroCultured. You may have seen him at the odd gig or launch party too.

Having DJed all over Manchester from various bars, clubs and pubs in the NQ to house parties and bars even over seas in Ireland, most notably supporting Norman Jay MBE and the Body & Soul festival.

Funkademia is pleased he's chosen us for this anniversary and I hope you will give him a massive Mancunia welcome and help him celebrate 10 years of trying to be a Manc.

Pasta Paul currently plays Post Office 5-9pm every Friday and The Good Old Roast 3-8pm every Sunday both at Trofnq. He is also a Pop Til You Drop resident which is every Friday at Mint Lounge. Follow him on twitter @PastaPaul
